1. What is the idea?
The idea is simple: to try and make $1m (US) by selling 1,000,000 pixels for $1 each. Hence, 'The Angels-Network Million Pixel Homepage". The main motivation for doing this is to Change the Life of People who needs it but also Deserves it.
So, everyone is welcome to buy pixels, which are available in 100-pixel 'blocks' (each measuring 10x10 pixels). You will see the Home Page is divided into 10,000 of these 100-pixel blocks (hence there are 1,000,000 pixels in total). The reason for selling them in 100-pixel blocks is because anything smaller would be too small to display anything meaningful.
You can buy as many pixels as you like, as long as there are some available (see the live stats in the top right corner of the page). When you buy some pixels, you can then display an image/ad/logo of your choice in the space you have purchased. You can also have the image click through to your own website. However, no obscene or offensive images are allowed.
The pixels you buy will be displayed on the homepage permanently. Using part of the money raised from the site, We guarantee to keep it online for at least 5 years, but hopefully much longer. You will have a piece of internet history and also You will be helping to change a Life!
2. Who are you?
Theangels-network.com is a social organization made up of honest and social visionary people whose primary purpose is to help raise funds for those most in need, through innovative ideas and the use of the Internet.
The name of Theangels-network.com, comes from the fact that we think that a group of people can achieve better results in the search to raise funds to support people most in need. In this network of angels, each one of us, you, me and all the people who help us, advertisers and visitors becomes an angel that united in this network of angels will help to raise funds for people most in need.
Our organization came after seeing that in the entire region of Central America and Latin America in general, there is great poverty, big gaps and great need of help. There are Institutions that already are dedicated to help these people, and one of our functions is to help raise funds for these institutions that helps anyone who really needs it.
The Internet is an industry that generates billions of dollars, and why not use this medium to get some of that money and help people in need in various fields such as health, housing, education and poverty, among others.
3. How did you come up with the idea?
Alex Tew, a 21 years old student, sold 1 Million Pixels on his web page "The Million Dollar Homepage", to support his university studies in only 4 month!!!... After watching this, we thought, why not put a website like this, but instead of raising pesronal funds, raise the funds to change the life of people who needs it but also Deserves it?
So we beg all you to help us buying all the pixels in the shortest amount of time possible, so we can start helping Margarita and working to change Her and Her child's life FOREVER!
When we have sold all the pixels on this first, Million Pixel Page, we are going to look for more souls around the world that deserves the help and the change of their lifes, so come on and help us with this dream!
4. What will you do with the money?
When we have sold all the pixels of this first, Million Pixel Page, we are going to fly to México and see what are the actual needs of Margarita and her Child. We want to fullfill her dream of someone who take cares of her son when she is no longer around. We have some ideas on how to change her life, like buying a house for her and her child, to live according to Othon's needs. Maybe buy a place for her to receive the money from the rent, so she has not to work and ask for free food for her and Othon anymore. Maybe, hire a therapist, and Medical assistance for their home. We have this Ideas, but, only when we know the conditions of them and their needs at the moment that they receive our and your help. We will use up to 50% of the revenue from the sell of the pixeles of this page to do this, the other half it's going to be used to mantain this page and continue with this site, and to look to change the lifes of other souls that needs help and also deserves it!. The only condition is that all the pixels of this site must be sold before we take action. All the news and results of this Help will be published in a section of this Web Site. So help us with this and help to change the Life of Margarita Juarez!
The general idea is to Change her and her child's lifes. So that she will not have to worry anymore for her an her child. In a few words To Change Her Life Forever!
5. Why should I buy your pixels?
First and the most important reason, is because you will be helping to the raise of funds for changing a life of someone who really needs it, and also deserves it.
The second reason is because you will have an image and a link to your site on the homepage of a site that could potentially be seen by millions of people over the coming years. The site will be online for at least 5 years, but the idea is to keep it online forever. So you really could own a piece of 'Internet History that was used to do Good'!
6. Why can't I buy one single pixel?
We decided that although it would probably be ok if individuals could buy a single pixel each, in practise, it wouldn't so effective. The reason We believe this is because you can't display anything meaningful in one pixel - nor click it easily - so visually, it would be pointless. With thousands of random tiny coloured dots all over the place, the homepage would look gastly.
We also thought that the site would appeal more to people with businesses/websites to advertise than it would to individuals, or to put it more accurately, businesses would pay more to have a meaningful graphic on the homepage. Hence the minimum purchase is $100 - a 10x10 block.
However! If you really want to own a single pixel and Help this way, there is always the option of clubbing together with your friends/family/colleauges and buying a 10x10 block.
To buy a region of pixels to put your image and/or ad, you first have to have your image ready with the actual size of pixels that you are going to buy, and then go to the Buy Pixels page, register, upload your image, link and all the information requested, and make the payment. After your payment is verified and your uploaded image aproved, your image is going to be displayed on our first Million Pixel Page on this Site.
7. How long will the site be online?
The site will be online for 5 years guaranteed (at least until December 1st 2014), however the aim is to keep the site online forever (or as long as humanly possible), but Theangels-network.com and any of the owners of this Web Site assumes no liability for damage caused by the disruption of our service or malfunctioning of our equipment or software or misuse thereof or for any reason or circumstance, including without limitation, vandalism, piracy, hacking, theft, phone service problems, interruptions in the Internet service, human error, extreme weather conditions, or any other causes commonly referenced as an "Act of God". Under no circumstances we will refund the money charged for advertising services contracted by advertisers on This Web Site or other Web Site of Theangels-network.com group.
The idea is to create something of an internet time capsule: a homepage that is unique and permanent. Everything on the internet keeps changing so fast, it will be nice to have something that stays solid and permanent for many years. You can be a part of that and for a Good Reason!
